Avoid Trust Scams

Dennis D. Duffy · Oct 5, 2012 ·

You have probably heard that a Revocable Living Trust is one of the best estate planning tools. You will find many people who will tell you, in fact, that all you need to do to prepare your estate is to get a Revocable Living Trust. This is because a Trust is a part of most good estate plans. Unfortunately, the popularity of Revocable Living Trusts has led to many people getting scammed with them.

You will find all sorts of people willing to sell you a Revocable Living Trust. They seem to be knowledgeable about them and because you have heard about Trusts before, these people do not have a difficult time convincing you that what they are selling is a good Trust. Of course, you probably think that a scam cannot work on you. However, it can if you do not know the person who you are getting the trust from. You need to make sure that the person who is selling you the Trust is qualified to make a good, legal Trust.

The best way to make sure that you get a Revocable Living Trust that does what you need it to do is to schedule an appointment with an estate planning attorney. The attorney is the most qualified person to create your Trust. Do not settle for anything less.
